Yuna

Championing safeguarding with empathy, expertise and a heart for those who need it most.

Yuna brings warmth, wisdom, and a wealth of real-world experience to her role as a Safeguarding Trainer. With over 20 years working on the frontline, including 17 years as a Detective Constable, she’s spent her career standing up for people who need it most. From supporting survivors of rape and serious sexual offences, to protecting children at risk of exploitation, she is deeply committed to making a difference where it matters.

Her work in policing she was a RASSO Specialist, Advanced Suspect Interviewer, and TRIM Practitioner. This work involved high-risk investigations, including human trafficking, domestic abuse, and child sexual exploitation. What makes her approach stand out is how she brings empathy and trauma-informed care into every interaction.

Yuna is also a qualified integrative counsellor, where she supports individuals working through grief, trauma, anxiety and mental health challenges. She’s especially passionate about helping those who often go unheard, including refugees and bereaved families, through her counselling work at a children’s hospice.

In 2022, Yuna was recognised with a Community Spirit Award for her work in mental health advocacy, a proud moment that reflects her heart for community wellbeing and healing.

She’s also Level 1 trained in British Sign Language and cares deeply about making her work inclusive, accessible, and grounded in real connection.

Yuna’s training style is dynamic, practical, and always person-centred. Whether she’s in a room full of professionals or supporting someone one-on-one, she brings a calm presence, a sharp investigative mind, and a genuine passion for safeguarding done well, with clarity, care, and compassion.

And when she’s not working… you will often find her writing poetry, drawing from the stories, strength and resilience of those she’s met along the way. Her words often explore justice, healing, and hope, much like the work she does every day.
