  • Understanding a safeguarding culture of vigilance
  • Safeguarding Governance -statutory duties and responsibilities of Directors and Leaders - what risks should you be looking for?
  • Awareness of Safeguarding policy and procedures (DSO role recording, etc.)
  • Understanding and exploring the role and responsibilities of Directors and Leaders in terms of safeguarding and a safer culture
  • Explore and evaluate your current level of safeguarding risk, how this is managed and reviewed

  • Understand the safeguarding standards relevant to your organisation and sector.
  • Examine your statutory duties and governance responsibilities as a leader, including the key risks to be aware of at the board and senior levels.
  • Increase your awareness of safeguarding policies and procedures, including the Designated Safeguarding Officer (DSO) role and effective record-keeping.
  • Explore how your leadership directly influences organisational safeguarding culture and what accountability looks like in practice.
  • Learn how to audit and review safeguarding effectiveness: What does success look like, and how can it be measured?
  • Understand how to support and challenge your management team to ensure safeguarding principles are consistently embedded across all levels of the organisation.
  • Begin developing an action plan to address gaps and adapt to emerging safeguarding risks within your context
