Meet the Team
Julie
Passionate and committed to protecting the most vulnerable in society.
Julie has worked as an independent consultant since 2012 specialising in Safeguarding, Multi Agency and Partnership policy development and training and is passionate about improving outcomes for children young people and vulnerable adults.
Having left university long time ago, Julie worked with on a mobile film project for young people introducing them to film and media and she has retained this interest in the arts and creative approaches to training and facilitation.
Following several years working in commercial environments Julie returned to working with children and young people and spent 12 years working in sexual health as Chief Executive of Brook Blackburn. Working across partnerships locally and nationally Julie developed an expertise in safeguarding and especially child sexual exploitation (CSE), working as a founder member of the Engage team – one of the first specialist multi agency teams to address this issue.
Julie has continued to develop this expertise working in local authorities, voluntary and private sector organisations across the UK.
When not delivering training and consultancy services, Julie can often be found in the kitchen – cooking baking and trying not to eat too much of the results. She loves to travel and still spends as much time as possible at the cinema, and theatre. Every couple of years she can also be found sleeping on the streets of Blackburn in her role as Chair of Nightsafe a local organisation for homeless young people.
