If you have completed your Safeguarding Level 1 and need to know more about safeguarding children and adults at risk, then this Combined Level 2 course is for you.
Designed for people who have more responsibility for safeguarding children and adults at risk, or who provide advice and guidance for other staff on safeguarding matters within the organisation; this course covers safeguarding roles and responsibilities in more depth.
Additionally if you are looking to step up in your organisation and perform the role of the Designated Safeguarding Lead ( DSL) then this course is essential learning before attending DSL level training.
From this course you will gain detailed knowledge of legislation and guidance relating to safeguarding thresholds and the Child Protection process ( Sec 47 ) and adult protection investigation process (Section 42 enquiries). You will get increased knowledge of partner agencies safeguarding responsibilities, e.g., interagency collaboration and regulatory frameworks.
You will develop confidence in information sharing requirements that underpin best practice for safeguarding, i.e., awareness of the Mental Capacity Act, Multi Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA), Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conferences ( MARAC), Prevent duty, the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and Child Safeguarding Practice Review / Serious Adult Reviews.

- Understanding the emotional aspect of making a decision for another who lacks capacity
- Demonstrate an awareness of the main principles of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 Best interest principle and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards. ( Liberty Protection Safeguards - updates)
- Other safeguarding arrangements e.g., Multi Agency Public Protection Arrangements and Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conferences, National Child, and Domestic Abuse Disclosure schemes, Prevent agenda)
