Deb
Passionate safeguarding advocate, with a commitment to building confidence and empowering others through participation and lived experience.
A qualified trainer with 28 years’ experience in safeguarding, substance use and community engagement. Deb is passionate about safeguarding and committed to delivering impactful training, that’s both meaningful and fun!
Having worked in both frontline and strategic roles for private companies, local authorities and a wide range of voluntary Sector organisations she is an excellent communicator. She also has a good understanding of the benefits and complexities of working across multi agency partnerships.
Debs is also a qualified youth and community worker experienced in combining essential elements of person-centred interventions with strong safeguarding boundaries. Participation is central to the approaches she uses encouraging involvement, ensuring people have a voice and shining a light on the ‘Lived Experience’. As a founder member of Greater Manchester Recovery Federation, she was instrumental in developing local and national events to celebrate Recovery from Addiction.
Passionate about safeguarding, with a commitment to ensuring that individuals, and organisations understand and feel confident to implement safeguarding in their workplace and across communities.
Outside of work when not catching up with her close network of family and friends, Deb loves getting out in nature whether that be mindful walks with her lively cocker spaniel Coco, women’s retreats in the countryside, exploring the forest, and cold-water dips.
