The Athena Programme | Harmful Sexual Behaviour (HSB) in Education Understanding, Recognising and Responding in Line with KCSIE 2026

Harmful Sexual Behaviour (HSB) in Education Understanding, Recognising and Responding in Line with KCSIE 2026

Harmful Sexual Behaviour (HSB) remains one of the most challenging safeguarding issues facing schools and colleges. Following the publication of Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) 2026, education providers are expected to ensure that all staff can recognise child-on-child abuse, respond appropriately to Harmful Sexual Behaviour and contribute to creating a culture of safety where children feel protected and heard. This engaging and interactive course equips education professionals with the knowledge, confidence and practical skills required to identify, assess and respond to Harmful Sexual Behaviour in accordance with statutory safeguarding guidance. Delegates will explore the continuum of sexual behaviours, understand safeguarding thresholds, develop professional curiosity and examine realistic case studies to improve safeguarding decision-making.
