Imtiaz
Experienced Safeguarding trainer and practitioner focusing on reflection and anti oppressive practice.
Imtiaz has over 25 years of working in many diverse organisations such as schools, the voluntary sector and local authority settings. He is passionate around all areas safeguarding and recently joined the BASW BPN network aiming to promote anti racist practice as well as develop inclusive and culturally competent practice. Having completed his Masters in Management, SENCO inclusion award, and Diploma is Social Work, he can deliver consultancy and training to various audiences, large and small.
Imtiaz’s other past roles included working as a Teacher, Student Services Manager, Youth Worker, Mediator, Safeguard Trainer, and Service Manager. He is currently a Safeguarding in Education Social Worker assisting schools with Section 175 audits, safeguarding self assessments, Ofsted complaints, Designated Safeguarding Leads & safeguard training, and other tasks as required to support schools meet their safeguard requirements.
Part of Imtiaz’s management experience was to manage change and staff development. Imtiaz can apply models and theories to develop team effectiveness.
In his leisure time Imtiaz volunteers as a safeguarding trustee at a range of local schools, carries out DIY, and likes to walk. His recent challenge was to conquer the 3 highest peaks in the UK, finally reaching the top of Ben Nevis in September.
